Kamalji Maharaj, hailing from Bhuwaneshwori Durbar, Vindhyachal in Mirjapur, U.P., India, who was in Kathmandu on a brief visit, says he has come to Nepal to have a darshan of Lord Pashupatinath. Kamalji, a disciple of Devi Prasad Maharaj, wants to build a temple of Ma Sharda in Kathmandu in the near future by collecting fund from different people.
Talking to the representative of The Nepal Weekly on Sunday, he said he was very much impressed by the friendly and religious minded people of Nepal. “Nepal is a beautiful country and the people of Nepal are also beautiful and committed to the values of Hinduism,” said Kamalji.
In a question relating to the erstwhile Hindu Kingdom turning into a secular state, he says, “it doesn’t matter, whether the country is declared a Hindu nation or not, what matters is the cultural and religious values adopted by the people of Nepal.”
“Hinduism is not actually a religious sect as it teaches us humanitarian values, love and world peace” he pointed out. “I found majority of Nepalese people are committed to the values of Hinduism and they have respect and love for their culture and religion.”
Hindu religion is not just for the well being of the Hindus, it is for all the people living in this planet, he pointed out. “Hindu religion teaches to love and respect each and every human being, not just the Hindus.”
“Both in Nepal and India, the values of Hindu culture and religion are equally honoured, which make the two countries special,” he pointed out.
Both Nepalese and Indian people have faith in Lord Shiva and they are committed to follow the path shown by Shiva, says Kamalji.
In another question he says, religious conversion has no meaning at all. “One should be firm on the religious faith with which he or she was born.”
In yet another question, he says “we should not politicise religion but a politician without having faith in religion can not perform his duty properly.” “The politician can perform service to humanity only if he is religious minded, otherwise, he cannot become a true politician.” Responding to another question he said, true religion doesn’t believe in any kind of discrimination. There is no place for discrimination in the heart of the religious people, as discrimination exists only at the superficial level not in the deeper level, he added.
