As many as 1,111 dengue patients were reported in Nepal in the last 24 hours, according to health ministry officials. With this, the number of dengue patients in Nepal has exceeded 40,000. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the number is based on dengue patients reported in the country since July 17. However, the number of dengue patients might be many fold that those reported officially, according to reports. With the addition of 1,111 new cases in the last 24 hours, the total number of dengue patients in the country exceeded 40,000. The authorities reported on Sunday that the total number of dengue patients in Nepal had reached 40,029 by Sunday.
One person died of dengue in the last 24 hours, taking the dengue death tally in the country to 48 so far, according to the ministry. Dengue patients have been reported in all 77 districts of the country, including the high mountain districts of Manang and Mustang.
