The Election Commission (EC) has asked the political parties and independent candidates to submit the details of expenditures made for the online advertisement in social networking sites for the federal and provincial assembly elections.
The EC’s appeals has come as the social networking sites are filled with the polls related advertisements after the completion of the candidacy nomination of the candidates for the federal and provincial assembly polls scheduled to take place on November 20.
The EC made such appeal by making public the ‘Policy on Use of Social Sites on Election Management’.
According to EC’s spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel continued monitoring and evaluation of the online advertisement is being launched by forming a mechanism in the EC’s Secretariat and offices of the EC.
