Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Sah (Balen) has appointed Superintendent of Municipal Police Raju Pandey to the post of chief of Kathmandu Municipal Police. Sah has replaced SP Dhanapati Sapkota who served as the chief of the Kathmandu Municipal Police Chief for a long time.
According to a source at the KMC the appointment of SP Pandey as the Kathmandu Municipal Police chief is as per a regular process of the KMC. “SP Sapkota held the responsibilities of the Kathmandu municipal police chief for quite a long time. SP Pandey has now replaced him under a regular process,” said an aid to the Mayor.
SP Sapkota has now been transferred to the Administration Department of Kathmandu municipal police.
In KMC, there are five municipal Superintendents of Police (SPs). Among them, Mayor Sah has decided to appoint SP Pandey to the crucial post of Kathmandu municipal police chief.
