The 27th edition of the Computer Association Nepal (CAN) Infotech that kick started at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu on April 20 successfully concluded on April 25. The association orgnized the exhibition physically after a gap of two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year’s event wasregarded as significant. The event is expected to give a major lift to the businesses which was hard hit by the Corona scare and lockdowns.
Theentry ticket was priced at Re. 1. Visitors could purchase tickets through the mobile wallet and the exhibition’s title sponsor, IME Pay. Interested ones could also virtually take part in the expo through CAN Infotech 2022 official website.
The event was co-sponsored by SmartChoice Technologies (SCT Smart QR). The platinum sponsor of ‘IME Pay CAN InfoTech 2022 in association with SCT Smart QR’ was WorldLink Communications while gold sponsors are Nepal Telecom, Generation Next Communications, and Sagar Group of Companies. Similarly, Namaste Pay, S-Power, Broadway Infosys Nepal, and Digicom were silver sponsors.
Likewise, Softwarica College of IT and E-Commerce was the innovation partner of the expo while Sunway International Business School was the academic partner. Similarly, Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN) was a food and beverage partner, Mandala Systems was a virtual exhibition partner while the Ultra LED was the digital display partner.
This year, collaborating with the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), the exhibition showcased new and innovative ideas in IT show. At Infotech, exhibitors showcasedvarious softwares, mobile phones, security solutions, solar power systems, inverters, networking and cloud solutions, United Parcel Service (UPS), laptop and desktop computers, printers, power systems, and computer accessories, and much more. Branding, Information, and Communication Technology (ICT) accessories, game parlors, product launches, start-ups, robotics, new technologies, electronic waste (e-waste) management, Wi-Fi, and Internet, and learning centers were all represented at CAN Infotech 2022.
The idea behind the event was to make aware the general public about ICT in Nepal, and the symbolic ticket price was to trigger more curiosity about the informative six-day fair. According to Shekhar Nath Dulal, the secretary of CAN, “There were 170 stalls and over 100 companies participating during the exhibition.” “CAN is not only providing stalls for companies but also giving opportunities to new startups” he further elaborated.
