Janakpurdham to host Mithila Festival from April 7

The Mithila Festival will be organized in Janakpurdham with the objective of preserving and promoting the art, culture and religious traditions of Mithila. During a press conference organized in Janakpurdham on Wednesday organizer Pawan Raj Joshi informed that the Mithila Festival will be held from April 7 to 13 this year. According to the organizer, the festival will also feature performances of famous local artists and singers from different parts of the country including Mithila region along with information on art and culture. Besides that, various food items and art skills will also be exhibited in the festival.

With an expectation of more than 4,000 spectators a day, the entrance fee has been fixed at Rs 30 per person, said Chairman Joshi. The festival, which will be held at Janakpurdham’s 12-acre ground, will cost around 94 lakhs, according to the organizers.
