Nomination for new NRNA leadership opens

Nomination registration for the election of the new leadership of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has commenced from Monday. The nomination registration process will continue from Monday till 5 PM Tuesday as per the pre-set schedule, informed Bhimsen Banjara, head of the election committee of NRNA.

The election committee says that the person wishing to file nomination can register his/her candidature online or by attending the office of the association directly. The committee says that nominations are invited for 51 office-bearers including the president of NRNA. The election scheduled for last October was postponed due to a dispute among representatives.

The committee has made public the schedule of online elections for March 21 and 22. According to the voters’ list made public by the election committee 3,590 voters are eligible to participate in the election process. For the new leadership of the association, Dr Badri KC, Rabina Thapa and Kul Acharya have announced their candidacies.
