Mahat appointed NC spokesperson

Nepali Congress (NC) has appointed senior leader of the party Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat as the spokesperson of the party. NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba handed over the duties of party spokesperson to Dr Mahat on Monday, according to party sources. 

While appointing the new spokesperson PM Deuba expressed the hope that the appointment of Dr Mahat would contribute to further strengthening the party organization, making the party’s presence more vital, dynamic, and effective. Prior to this, Dr Mahat had served as the Joint-General Secretary of the party.  During the 14th General Convention of NC, Dr Mahat lost the elections for the post of General Secretary.
