Prime Minister Sushila Karki has appealed to all voters to actively participate in the House of Representatives (HoR) election being held on March 5 2026.

She called all citizens to exercise their voting rights so that the country would make headway to political stability and prosperity.

In her address to the nation Monday, PM Karki reminded the Nepalis to decide their and children’s future through the voting. “Casting votes is not simply stamping on ballot papers and electing leaders, but a moment to decide the future- of yours and your children,” PM Karki said. She also urged all voters to reach the nearby voting centres and cast ballots by brushing aside all other activities coming Thursday, March 5.

“On the eve of HoR election, I request all of you to maintain peace and order. Peace is Nepalis’ identity,” pointed out the Prime Minister.

According to PM Karki, the country is at a decisive moment, so the March 5 election is the time to determine the individual’s and the country’s future.

“I’ve taken this (election) as my responsibility towards nation to give leadership to the country by handling the critical situation,” remarked the head of government.

“I always stood for justice and honesty, carrying out my duty accordingly. After some days, the country would be led by the representatives you’re going to elect through the March 5 election.”

“Let’s make the March 5 election peaceful, fair and historic,” she appealed extending the greetings on the occasion of Holi festival.

Recalling the critical, challenging and difficult time following the Gen Z movement, she said “Transition from the violent state to a peaceful solution and bringing country back on a constitutional track was first priority.”

PM Karki urged political parties, candidates and supporters to abide by election code and respect each other to make the election a dignified exercise.

Meanwhile, the election campaign period allotted by the Election Commission is expiring on the mid-night of Monday, March 2. The silent period begins after 12 am after which no election campaign is allowed for the House of Representatives election.
