Nepali voters have, through a time-honoured democratic electoral process, given a great historic verdict for doing and changing politics to a comparatively new political entity – Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). Their expectation from it could be summarized as real time service-delivery with good governance and with no room for corruption and transactional politics. Traditional parties and old generation politicos could not perform in the last 35 years as per people’s will expressed clearly in different general elections. The same disconnected the leaders with people fueling mistrust among them. As its consequence, various opposition voices and movements were organized in the country but those in power and having state-resources either suppressed or ignored both. But the Gen Z People’s Movement of September, 2025 with its tragic reality of 76 martyrs, was so wide-spread, appealing and effective that it forced the then government to quit, create vacuum in governance, security and politics – and constitute Interim Government to cope with political crisis, dissolve the then House of Representatives and hold election for a fresh 275-member- House of Representatives. Prime Minister Sushila Karki, not a politico but a former Chief Justice, steered the Interim Government so efficiently that people could take decision in originally scheduled time on the future five-year-course of representation, politics and governance. Premier Karki, despite her senior age of 73, tackled the chaotic challenges of political crisis in a standard, fair and sincere manner and now is ready to hand over government to elected representatives of people. Congratulations to all people’s representatives! Advance greetings to who could now be safely addressed as Prime Minister-elect Balendra Shah and would-be members of fresh cabinet!
