Nepalis will witness new era in politics this weekend when RSP leader Balendra Shah begins his premiership and the leading party in fresh House of Representatives RSP starts presiding over the change brought about by 2026 parliamentary election.
“People are looking at the change with hope and trust in youths of the country,” said a senior politician in Kathmandu. “The scenario of RSP in driver’s seat of Nepali politics is unique, interesting and highly meaningful.”
With two fresh leaders Balendra Shah and Ravi Lamichhane taking key role in decision making, Nepali politics, governance, and legislative processes enter a lively energetic era through which Nepalis will be served better, observed a media analyst. According to one politics-observer, the duo will make a difference – positive and constructive – in Nepali politics. “They will replace what used to be dubbed as the musical chair-show in politics of Deuba, Oli and Prachanda in myriad combinations.” Politics now will mean service to the people and it will not be taken as a tool to accomplish personal leadership and goals. “The age of transactional politics of the past is over,” noted one youth appreciating the change brought about by Gen Z revolution.
