The 20th Graduation Fashion Show of Namuna College of Fashion Technology (NCFT), titled Vividhayana Saundaryam, emerged as a remarkable celebration of creativity, innovation, and artistic vision. Organized on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at The Plaza Nepal in Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur, the event transformed the runway into a vibrant stage where fashion intertwined with nature and storytelling. Featuring the creative works of 62 graduating fashion designers, the show presented six concept-based collections inspired by Nepal’s diverse natural landscapes and ecological richness.
The theme Vividhayana Saundaryam, which reflects beauty born from diversity, served as the conceptual backbone of the event. Inspired by Nepal’s forests, mountains, wetlands, wildlife, and botanical diversity, the designers transformed elements of nature into compelling fashion narratives that blended artistic creativity with environmental consciousness. The runway displayed 62 original designer outfits alongside six signature masterpieces, with each collection presenting a harmonious fusion of nature, culture, and contemporary design aesthetics.

The evening began with a ceremonial runway appearance by Gyani Shova Tuladhar, Founder Principal of NCFT, who walked alongside promotional models to officially inaugurate the show. The presentation was choreographed by fashion choreographer Rojin Shakya, whose creative direction and dynamic staging enhanced the storytelling dimension of the collections. A total of 32 models, including professional models and students from NCFT, graced the runway, presenting the designers’ creations with confidence and elegance.
Behind the scenes, students from the 20th graduating batch played an integral role in coordinating the event. Riya Shrestha, Isha Maharjan, Sandhya Niraula, and Saraswati Singh contributed significantly to organizing and managing the program, ensuring the smooth execution of the evening’s elaborate production.

The fashion extravanza commenced with “NEPALIUM: Where Ice Finds Its Flow,” a collection exploring the dynamic transformation between ice and water. Drawing inspiration from glaciers and melting streams, the designs transitioned from structured, crystalline silhouettes to soft, fluid forms. The palette of white, silver, teal, and jade symbolized the gradual natural shift from frozen solidity to flowing movement.
Another masterpiece presentation was “Iridescent Shells: Armor Softened by Elegance,” inspired by beetles and their resilient exoskeletons. Featuring shimmering iridescent tones and bold architectural shapes, the collection portrayed the intriguing contrast between protection and grace.

The narrative continued with “Aavaran Mrittika: Beneath, Beyond, Becoming,” a collection inspired by the unseen layers of soil. The designs evolved from light, surface-level textures into deeper, more protective forms, symbolizing the earth’s hidden processes of memory, pressure, and regeneration.
Drawing inspiration from the majesty and mystery of the Himalayan region, “Aviora: Wings of the Himalaya” expressed themes of aspiration, elevation, and liberation. Lightweight fabrics and wing-inspired structural elements created a sense of motion, reflecting the uplifting spirit and resilience associated with the mountains.
Addressing environmental awareness, “Red List Reverie” highlighted endangered species found in Nepal, including the snow leopard, red panda, and gharial. Through earthy tones, sculptural silhouettes, and vivid red accents, the collection conveyed powerful messages about fragility, survival, and conservation.
The runway concluded with “Vanaspati Kusum: Forest Blooms of Nepal,” a graceful tribute to the nation’s rich floral diversity. Soft shades of pink and green combined with delicate fabrics to represent flowers such as rose, rhododendron, orchid, lotus, and lily, emphasizing the poetic elegance and beauty of nature.
Collectively, the six collections reflected the growing voice of contemporary Nepali fashion—one that increasingly engages with sustainability, cultural identity, and contextual storytelling. The graduating designers demonstrated that fashion extends beyond clothing, serving as a powerful medium for expressing ideas, narratives, and emotions.
Each collection culminated in a distinctive “masterpiece” garment, a signature design representing the essence of the designer’s concept and creative exploration. As models moved gracefully across the stage, the audience experienced a visual narrative where each outfit conveyed its own story. The meticulous craftsmanship, imaginative silhouettes, and symbolic design elements captivated spectators and left a lasting impression. Through experimental textures, carefully structured silhouettes, and meaningful color palettes, the collections illustrated how fashion can transcend aesthetics and evolve into a powerful form of artistic storytelling.
A major highlight of the evening was the launch of the fourth edition of the NCFT Fashion Catalog, a publication documenting the creative works of the graduating designers. The catalog was officially unveiled by Kalyani Mishra Tripathi, Registrar; Sandesh Das Shrestha, Dean of the Faculty of Management; Founder Principal of NCFT Gyani Shova Tuladhar; Miss Nepal Cosmo 2025 Deepsikha Nepal; and Miss Nepal International 2025 Urusha Bhandari, in the presence of Vice Principal Jeebeswor Lal Shrestha and the event coordinators from the 19th graduating batch of NCFT.
The graduating designers’ creations were assessed by a distinguished panel of judges including Kul Bahadur Basnet, former Vice Chairperson of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT); Jaya Laxmi Pradhan, Campus Chief of Padma Kanya Multiple Campus; fashion educator Rajendra Singh; Kiran Prakash Saakha, Chairman of Fair-Trade Group Nepal; Sunil Chitrakar; fashion designers Mukta Shrestha and Manish Rai; and Santosh Upadhyaya, National Director for Miss Supranational and Mr. Nepal 2019.
The graduation showcase represents an essential academic component of the Bachelor of Fashion Design and Management (BFDM) program under Purbanchal University. It provides students with a professional platform to showcase their design research, creativity, and innovation before industry experts and the public.
