The US government has recently eased its travel advisory to some extent to those wishing to travel to Nepal. With the formation of Balendra Shah led government in Nepal the USA has lowered its advisory level to 2 from earlier level 3. Exercise increased caution while traveling the new advisory said, citing an improved security situation following the end of nationwide demonstrations that began in September 2025.
“The nationwide demonstrations that began in September 2025 have stopped, and the security situation is stable. However, demonstrations and local unrest can still happen, particularly in cities,” according to the new travel advisory to its citizens. The US government urged its citizens to avoid large crowds and follow instructions from local authorities.
