Great Nepal and Five Element SDG to collaborate in RE growth

Great Nepal Pvt. Ltd. and Switzerland-based international organization Five Element SDG signed an agreement to collaborate with the goal of promoting sustainable development, renewable energy and socially inclusive technology. The memorandum of understanding signed between the two entities will remain effective for joint activities for three years. Great Nepal President GunarajDhakal and Five Element SDG President and Managing Director Arun Sam Amritham signed the memorandum of understanding amidst an event held in Kathmandu on 20 January, 2026.

The agreement focuses on working jointly in the fields of renewable energy, especially solar energy, overall development of rural and marginalized communities, social enterprise, and climate-adaptive infrastructure in other developing countries including Nepal. South Sustainable Solar Strategy S5 will be promoted as a major initiative of the agreement. Under the said strategy, it is said that community-oriented, accessible and local context-friendly solar and clean energy solutions will be promoted in South Asia.

According to the agreement, Great Nepal will support project coordination, technical studies, detailed project report preparation, construction supervision, quality assurance and carbon finance within Nepal. Likewise, the Five Element SDG will play a leading role in strategic guidance, resource mobilization, partnership development and knowledge sharing at the international level.

Dhakal, the president of Great Nepal, said that this agreement will be important to advance renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure with social justice and inclusiveness. Likewise, Five Element SDG President Arun Sam Amrutam expressed his commitment to make the cooperation with Nepal long-term and impact-oriented and expressed the opinion that solutions based on local capabilities are the basis of sustainable development.
