Representatives of all political parties in Rautahat on Sunday issued a public appeal to maintain communal harmony and mutual respect. The appeal came after continuous discussions involving stakeholders and representatives from all sides, urging preservation of a peaceful and calm environment.
To maintain peaceful environment, a goodwill rally led by civil society with participation from all stakeholders has been scheduled for Monday at 7:30 a.m. in Rautahat.
There has been tension in Rautahat or the past three days after a clash erupted between two groups. The District Administration Office has extended the prohibitory order imposed in Gaur municipality area. The prohibitory order will remain effective from 8:30 am on Sunday till next notice, according to a notice issued by the District Administration Office, Gaur. Chief District Officer Dinesh Bhusal informed that the prohibitory order has been continued from 8:30 am on Sunday until further notice. However, the prohibitory order had been relaxed from 6:30 am to 8:30 am in the morning for the convenience of the local people. The clashes erupted on Thursday night over a dispute related to music played during a wedding procession. The situation escalated on Friday, leading to clashes between two communities.
