Issuing a 63 point election code of conduct the Election Commission has asked to carry out their publicity campaign in the stipulated date between 7 am to 7 pm, and halt any type of campaign 48 hours ahead of the general election scheduled for March 5. The EC has allotted time for election campaign from February 16 to March 2.

The political parties and their candidates must accept financial assistance above Rs. 25,000 through banking transaction and restricted using plastic materials or polythene for publicity campaign. The Election Commission has sought cooperation from the candidates and political parties to conduct the upcoming election in a free, fair and fearless manner.

In case if any one violates the code of conduct, such candidates will face legal action such as cancellation of the candidacy or disqualified for participating in any type of election for six years, according to a notice issued by the Election Commission.
