Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) has organized a round table discussion on the theme “Bridging Science and Diplomacy: Advancing Shared Goals for Sustainable Development,” to mark the World Science Day on November 11, 2024 in Kathmandu. A host of speakers who spoke on the occasion shed light on the growing importance of science diplomacy in the modern world in the areas such as climate change, Information Technology and addressing digital divide.
Speaking as chief guest former Science and Technology Minister Ganesh Shah expressed his views on how science diplomacy can play a pivotal role in the shared goals for the nations. Board member of BPKIF Atul Koirala, Journalists Kuber Chalise, Shirish B. Pradhan, Saraswoti Karmhacharya among others shed light on different aspects of science and diplomacy.
Nepal’s diplomatic missions abroad can contribute a lot in promoting climate diplomacy at the best interest of the country, they pointed out.
