Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu started its operation at around 9.40 pm after resolving the runway lighting system. The airport suspended take off and landing after some problem had occurred at the airport at 5.30 pm. After 4 hours of maintenance works, the problem was fixed, an airport staff said. The airport had halted both its domestic and international services for some time due to the electricity problem.
Earlier, both the flights of domestic and international services were diverted after the problem occurred in the lighting system of the runway. According to Rinji Sherpa, spokesperson of TIA, Qatar Airways flight was diverted to Dhaka, Korean Air to Delhi and Fly Dubai to Lucknow. Similarly, Buddha Air’s two domestic flights have been diverted to other regional airports within Nepal, he added.
