Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis meets PM Oli| Corporate Nepal

Visiting Foreign Minister of Switzerland, Ignazio Daniele Giovanni Cassis, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday. During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on further strengthening the friendly relations between Nepal and Switzerland and furthering cooperation in the development sector, according to the Prime Minister’s press secretariat.

Minister Cassis on the occasion, reiterated Switzerland’s continued support for “Nepal’s development, including the enablement of federalism, successful conclusion of transitional justice, climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as disaster management efforts.” “Despite Nepal’s history of prolonged conflict and political instability, the current coalition government comprising two major political parties aims to promote development, good governance, and democracy through collaboration, remarked Prime Minister Oli. He also acknowledged Switzerland’s long-standing support for Nepal’s development efforts. Dr Danielle Meuwly, Swiss Ambassador to Nepal, was also present at the meeting held at Singdurbar secretariat. The visiting Swiss Foreign Minister also met Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. During the meeting, they discussed various issues, including friendly relations between the two countries, according to Home Ministry Spokesperson Ram Chandra Tiwari. Issues including the collaboration between the two countries on economic issues, as well as climate change and disaster risk management were included during the discussion.
