Jajarkot hit by an earthquake
Jajarkot district situated in Western Nepal was hit by an earthquake Monday afternoon. According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 was recorded with its epicentre at Ramidanda of Jajarkot district of Western Nepal at 2:25 pm. However, there was no immediate reports of any damage caused by the earthquake.
Earlier, on May 23, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 had struck Khalanga area of Baitadi district as the epicenter.
Baitadi hit by twin earthquakes
Batitadi district situated in Wstern Nepal was hit by a tremor Friday early morning. The earthquake with magnitude 5.1 occurred at 1.48 am, with its epicentre at Khalanga, the district headquarters, according to an official at the Head of the Earthquake Monitoring Centre. This was followed by a second earthquake measuring 3.7 magnitude at 2.00 am. After two consecutive tremors, the local residents here had panicked and run out of their homes. The tremor was also felt in neighbouring Darchula, Bajhang, and Dadeldhura districts, according to the official. No damage caused by the tremor has so far been reported.
