Fifth edition of Mero Auto Motor Rally concludes

The fifth edition of the ‘MeroAuto Motor Rally’ organized by Automotives Pvt. Ltd. has concluded. The rally was started at Naxal, Kathmandu on May 04, ended after reaching Sukute. It went through Gaushala-Chabahil-Jorpati-Thali-Sankhu-Nagarkot-Kuntabesi-Jerokilo-Dolalghat.

The rally was inaugurated jointly by former vice president of NADA Nirakar Shrestha and Geo Ford’s managing director Akash Golchha.

More than 40 cars and 100 people were involved in the rally. Auto entrepreneurs, professionals working in the auto sector, bankers, content creators, journalists were among the participants.

The motor rally featured most of the established brands of cars sold in Nepal. The electric vehicles dominated the presence as more than 85 percent of the cars participating in the rally were EVs.

Ujwal Ghimire, coordinator of the event said that this motor rally supports developing domestic tourism, establishing a drive tourism culture, expanding highway driving, and growth of business networking.

He informed that from this year, MeroAuto has started social work on the occasion of the rally. “We have been organizing a motor rally every year to provide the experience of highway driving along with the development of domestic tourism,” he said. “From this year, we have also been involved in CSR. We will continue this in the coming years as well.”

On the occasion of the rally, MeroAuto provided educational and sports materials to the students of Shree Kalika Basic School located in Ukhubari, Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-2, Sindhupalchowk.

As part of its social responsibility, MeroAuto has handed over materials including bags, pens, footballs, carom boards and more to more than 60 students of the school.

This year’s MeroAuto Motor Rally was sponsored by Laxmi Hyundai, with Global IME Bank as the banking partner, SagarmathaLumbini Insurance as the insurance partner, and INI Cinema as the multiplex partner. Similarly, supported bys were Curve EV, CG Motors, Henry Volts, Leapmotor, Isuzu, Higer EV, Toyota, Zeekr, Omoda  Jaecoo, LR Motors, and Arete.

Mero Auto has been organizing a motor rally every year to celebrate its anniversary. The first edition was held in 2021 from Kathmandu to Sukute.

Similarly, the second edition was Kathmandu-Moolkot, the third edition was Kathmandu-Trishuli, and the fourth edition was Kathmandu-Sauraha.

Earlier, Triumph Nepal, in collaboration with Hansraj Hulaschand & Co. Pvt. Ltd., successfully completed its motorcycle rally titled “Triumph Epic Ride: Echoes of the Lost Kingdom” from April 20 to 27, 2025.

The journey covered over 1,000 KM on Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X motorcycles, the ride offered a mix of adventure, culture and breathtaking Himalayan landscapes. In the eight-day journey 40 riders from Kathmandu enjoyed the remote and picturesque region of Lo-Manthang in Upper Mustang. The riders passed through rugged trails, ancient temples and hidden caves, experiencing the diverse beauty of Nepal from high-altitude deserts to serene riverside spots. Along the way, they also interacted with local communities, supported tourism-based businesses and promoted sustainable travel.

The rally highlighted the spirit of exploration and showcased Nepal as a destination that blends natural beauty with cultural depth best experienced on two wheels.
