Environmental experts representing various institutions and journalists during an interaction prograrmme expressed concern over the increasing air pollution facing Kathmandu valley and other major parts of the country and urged the government to take immediate measures to improve the environment.
They underlined the need to forge cooperation and collaboration among different stakeholders to reduce air pollution and to address alarming problem relating to environment degradation facing the country.
During the interaction organized by Nepal Environmental Journalists’ Forum in Kathmandu they pointed out that the death of 19 percent of Nepalese is linked to air pollution. Director general of Environmental Division of Government of Nepal Gyan Raj Subedi underscored the need to make people aware about the negative impacts of air pollution on the public health.
