Twin earthquakes have hit western Nepal Friday afternoon with a gap of just 3 minutes. A tremor measuring 5.5 magnitude was recorded at Jajarkot district of Western Nepal at 8.10 pm local time, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring Centre.
The epicentre of the earthquake was located at Panik area of Jajarkot district, 525 km West of Kathmandu. Prior to this, an earthquake measuring 5.2 magnitude was recorded at the same epicentre at 8.07 pm.
The tremor was felt in neighbouring Surkhet, Dailekh and Kalikot districts of Western Nepal. At least eight people were injured due to the earthquake in the districts.
