Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has said that people have not yet forgotten the autocratic system imposed during the monarchy’s reign. Pointing to the recent demonstration organized by pro-monarchist group in Kathmandu aiming to reinstate the monarchy, Oli said, “People have still not forgotten the autocratic regime imposed during the reign of monarchy in the country.”
“Strong local governments were formed in the country with the abolition of monarchy through a long struggle and sacrifices made by the people, so there is no alternative to the present system,” Oli pointed out.
He underscored the need for “collaboration among the three tire government- local, provincial and federal, for effective delivery of services to the people.”
Meanwhile responding to various questions of Lawmakers in the Parliament on Thursday Prime Minister Oli has said that the government is committed to checking inflation.
“Market monitoring has been conducted regularly to manage the smooth and accessible supply of goods and consumables related to the daily life of the common people,” remarked the Prime Minister.
Effective market monitoring has been conducted to prevent black marketing and hoarding of goods in the market, he added.
