Keep communist movement unified, Bhandari advises PM Oli

Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari amidst a function organized at City Hall, Kathmandu, Monday, launched the book entitled ‘KP Sharma Oli: Dream, Struggle and Resolve’. The book on the life and struggles of Prime Minister Oli, who is also the chair of CPN (UML), is edited by journalist Ganesh Pandey.

The book published by Alchemy Publication, consists of various articles related to Oli’s struggles for the cause of democracy, and his dreams and leadership initiatives to attain prosperity for the country.

The book contains articles by PM Oli’s compatriots, politicians, economists and social activists.

Speaking on the occasion as chief guest ex-president Bhandari, advised PM Oli to play his role to re-unite the communist movement of Nepal. She also lauded the important role played by Oli to unify the communist movement in the past. She recalled the crucial role played by Oli to the defeat the dividing forces and the groupism emerged in the party in the past that helped in consolidating the party organization.

“Political parties should maintain and internalize democratic norms, values and ideals braving all challenges that may emerge in the process,” she pointed out. “Inspired by high political morale, the UML has aimed at attaining power by honouring pluralism and multiparty competition and thereby bring about economic transformation for the country,” Bhandari maintained.

Ex-president Bhandari’s advice to Oli to maintain unity not only within the party but also in the entire communist movement at a time when PM Oli is facing some criticism from a section of the party is termed meaningful by political observers.
