NAC Starts Regular Flight at Resunga Airport

Regular flights to and from Resunga Airport in Gulmi have been suspended for the past two months.

Airport station manager Suman Thapa informed that Nepal Airlines’ aircraft is under maintenance and no other planes are available, causing the suspension of flights. The last flight was operated on December 19, 2024, and flights are unlikely to resume soon.

Previously, flights were scheduled once a week on Fridays. However, due to increasing passenger demand, permission was granted for flights thrice a week.

During the monsoon season, the schedule was revised to a weekly Friday flight. More recently, flights were scheduled twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays.

As per the schedule, flights depart from Kathmandu at 6:30 am and return from Resunga to Kathmandu at 7:45 am.  With the introduction of flights in Gulmi, tourists from France and Spain have started visiting the district.

The airfare from Gulmi to Kathmandu is Rs. 7,300, while the fare from Kathmandu to Gulmi is Rs. 7,500, said Thapa. Resunga Airport located approximately five kilometres from the district headquarters, Tamghas, is accessible via an unpaved road. Commercial flights from the airport commenced on May 11, 2023.
