A memoir (Smarika) of Arunodaya Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Charambi, Bhojpur was released on Friday the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the school. The 512 page book edited by Devi Prasad Ghimire was released by former President Bidya Devi Bhandari amidst a pgoramme at Russian Culture Centre, Kathmandu on Friday.
The book consists of various articles on the history, journey, struggle and future guidelines of the school. Since education is the backbone of the country’s development, the government should focus its attention towards providing better education to the children, she pointed out.
Expressing concern over the growing tendency of students to leave the country for higher education, she stressed on the need for changing the curriculum of schools and colleges so as to discourage students going abroad for the purpose of study. She also urged the government to work out strategy and introduce programme to arrest the trend of the plight of students from the country. “Nepal has already successfully maintained political stability by forming a coalition government with the participation of two largest parties Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, now its time to focus on development and economic prosperity of the country,” remarked Bhandari.
Former President Bhandari on the occasion honoured former students of the school who have reached high public positions in different fields. The programme was chaired by head master of the school Madhav Prasad Parajuli.
