Antardrishti award distributed under three categories

Muktinath Acharya has been honoured with Antardrishti Model Teacher Award, Monika Waiba honoured with Antardrishti Protsahan Patrakarita Award, and Garima Thapa and Karina Kafley honoured with Antardrishti Hatemalo Award amidst a function in Pokhara on Sunday.

The awards were handed over by chief guest Deputy Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City Manju Gurung at a programme organized in the premises of Amarsingh Namuna Madhyamik Vidyalaya on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

Muktinath Acharya, a teacher at Amarsingh Namuna Madhyamik Vidyalaya, was selected for the award for his outstanding contribution in the field of teaching visually impaired students and his positive attitude and behavour towards them, according to Dr. Kamal Lamichhane, patron of the Antardrishti Award Committee.

Monika Waiba, a reporter at ukeera.com, has been selected for the award for her outstanding contribution in generating awareness about the blind people, building positive attitude towards them through inclusive media coverage and disseminating positive information about them.

Likewise, Garima and Karina have been selected for the award for working with the blind people hand in hand and helping them through exchange of knowledge and showing positive attitude towards them. After being selected for the award journalist Waiba said, the

I felt very happy and encouraged after receiving the award, said Waiba adding this will encourage me to work even harder and produce more investigative and realistic stories related to the cause of disabled people. The award has been distributed every year since 2077 B.S. on the occasion of Basanta Panchami, according to the award committee.

The award carries a certificate of appreciation and cash prizes of Rs. 20,000, 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 under the categories of Model Teacher, Protsahan Patrakarita and Hatemalo Awards.
