Kirati demands special convention of CPN-Maoist Centre

CPN (Maoist Center) Central Committee member, Sudan Kirati, has demanded the party leadership to announce the date for the special convention of the party immediately. Expressing his views on the political report submitted by party chief  Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Monday, Kirati said, ”Let’s announce the date of the special convention of the party through this meeting. Let’s convert this CC meeting into the organizing committee.”  

He called for a campaign where one central member would be assigned to each local unit, and one ward chair per ward within the metropolitan city. Kirati, however, praised Prachanda, stating that he possessed a more democratic attitude than former Soviet Union leader Lenin.

“We are proud that we have a skilled leadership,” he said, “The circumstance is also in our favor. To steer the country in the right direction, a disciplined and influential party is required. To build such a party, a massive overhaul in our thoughts and the party structure is essential.”
