Experts discuss future strategy of NAST

Experts discuss future strategy of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) NAST on its 42nd anniversary on Thursday December 5. NAST organized a panel discussion featuring future programmes and strategy of NAST.

On the occasion academicians, researchers, scientists, technical experts and staff of NAST dwelt on issues relating to popularizing NAST among the general public, converting NAST into a forward looking institution and ways to controlling brain drain, which is plaguing the country.

The scientists and experts who participated in the discussion pointed various weaknesses and challenges facing NAST. Lack of sufficient budget is also one of the main obstacle for the promotion of NAST, they pointed out. Panelists including Prof. Dr. Govinda Raj Pokharel, Prof. Anjana Singh, Prof. Ramesh Maskey, Prof. Manish Pokharel and secretary Dr. Rabindra Dhakal participated in the discussion programme chaired by Vice – chancellor Prof. Dr. Dilip Subba.
