Modern science has done very little research and studies on the aspects of life and consciousness and the theory of life and evolution suggested by the Western scientists is inadequate to explain the mysteries behind the creation and evolution of living organism, concluded experts during a two day international conference on “Vedanta and Science on the Origin of Life and Evolution,” that kicked off at Akshara School at Kageshwori Manohara in the outskirt of Kathmandu on Saturday, November 22, 2024.
Life doesn’t come into existence by accident as suggested by the scientists and western scholars, they pointed out adding, the study of biology becomes incomplete without the proper understanding of the origin and evolution of life on Earth.
“Does evolution theory of Darwin or chemical, molecular and bio-molecular theories propounded by other scientists adequately address the question relating to the origin of life ? The answer is No.” pointed out experts.
“Science doesn’t have any answer to the question as to who is the architect of this evolution ?,” argued Prof. M.V. Jagannadham, scientist, CSIR Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad. “However, the Vedanta suggests that the Paramatma or the Bramha is the material cause as well as efficient cause of this Universe, he pointed out.
“Though technologies associated with computational biology and bioinformatics enhanced our understanding of biology, they have not yet explained the origins of the life itself. “They have only revealed important insights related with health and disease,” Jagannadham added.
“The Europeans have tried to prove the superiority of white skin people in the name of Darwin’s theory of evolution, though there is no evidence for life originating from chemicals as proposed by Darwin’s warm little pond concept,” pointed out Srila Bhakta Niskama Shanta Maharaja, President, Sri Chaitanya Saraaswat Math, West Bengal, India.
Terming Darwin’s view on evolution racial and unscientific, Srila Bhakti has claimed that Vedantic wisdom offers a more comprehensive perspective of modern civilization.
Vedic seers understood that the indiscriminate human actions could disrupt seasonal cycles, rainfall patterns and agricultural productivity while also degrading essential natural resources like water, air and soil,” according to Achyut Tiwari, lecturer at Central Department of Botany, Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
“Veda and Science: A convergence of perspectives on plant succession,” “Veda to Natural and Artificial Intelligence: tracing the evolution of human knowledge,” “Deciphering perspective of climate change,” are some of the interesting topics on which experts presented their papers and discussions were held during the conference.
The international conference was organized by Sanatana Science Education and Research Center, Kathmandu in collaboration with Sri Chaitanya Saraswati Institute, India and Santatna Studies and Research Academy, Tribhuvan University.
The two day long conference witnessed participation of altogether 250 people including 30 scholars, scientists and experts on Vedanta from Nepal and India.
