Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli addressing the House of Representatives on Monday afternoon informed the House about his forthcoming visit to the United States to attend the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations. PM Oli is embarking on a visit to the USA, his first foreign trip after assuming the post of Prime Minister for the fourth time, on Sept. 20, 2024.
“I will not let the country’s prestige and dignity down during the visit,” the Prime Minister said while addressing the HoR. Nepal will inform the UN about its policy not to interfere in other’s affairs and not to let others interference in its internal affairs as per the UN Charter, he pointed out.
“DUring the UN General Assembly I will clearly put my views on Nepal’s constitution, democratic values, identify as a sovereign independent nation, justifiable national interest and international commitment,” said Oli.
We will try to collaborate with the world community in the problems and weaknesses we face while attempting to attain development and prosperity for the country,” Oli said in his address, which was live telecast.
“Nepal wants to maintain a good neighbourly relations and we also expect the same”, he made it clear. “We have no enemy and we want to maintain friendship with all.”
The Prime Minister will attend the Future Summit at the General Assembly in which he will present Nepal’s clear view on the protection of human race and the Earth as well as the eco-system of the Himalaya and the Ocean. The Prime Minister said that he will also draw the world attention towards the issues relating to the melting snow and rising sea level on the occasion.
