Top leaders of the ruling coalition parties met at the Prime Minister’s Official residence at Baluwatar and discussed the government’s common minimum programme (CMP). The meeting was attended by Prime Minister K.P. Oli Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, Janata Samajwadi Party president Ashok Rai, Lokatantrik Samajwadi Party president Mahantha Thakur, Nagarik Unmukti Party chairperson Ranjita Shrestha among others.
The discussion mainly focused on drafting a CMP for running the government, and addressing other issues, evaluating the government’s performance, as reported by the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
The meeting is expected to finalize the CMP, determine the modality to implement it, and discuss ways to accelerate the government’s work performance.
Earlier on Sunday, a meeting of top leaders held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar decided to form a task force comprising leaders from the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML.
General secretary Gagan Thapa and spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat from the NC, and deputy general secretaries Pradeep Gyawali and Bishnu Rimal from the UML were included in the task force.
