“Connection of Thoughts,” an art show by 10 talented young artists

Classic Gallery, Chakupta, Lalitpur has organized an art exhibition titled “Connection of Thoughts” starting from September 1 2024 with showcasing art works done by 10 young and talented artists. Naradmani Hartamchhali, chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) inaugurated the exhibition on Sunday, September 1, which will last till September 20.

Upon viewing their works, and going through their concepts, one may sense a strong desire in them to establish a connection with their roots. “The concept of origin has great significance for an artist, as it helps in visualization of the ideas they wish to convey,” reads a press release issued by Classic Gallery.

The works done by four female artists, Hisila Maharjan, Ojashwi Shrestha, Samana Nachhiring Rai and Sharmila Devi Tamang, and male artists, Nhuja Shrestha, Sudan Shrestha, Sonam Chamling Rai, Sujan Bir Bajracharya, Saran Tandukar and Yambang Thapa Magar are hanged at the exhibition. In total 50 art works are on display in the group exhibition.

Today’s artists should try portray our culture and tradition so as to maintain their originality while at the same time keeping pace with contemporary trend in art works. At the end of the inaugural ceremony, artist Samana Rai, presented a performance art with the title colours of curiosity.
