Mayor Nakarmi is no more

Mayor of Kirtipur Municipality Rajkumar Nakarmi has passed away at the age of 61. Nakarmi, who has been ill for some time breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital at 10.30 pm on Thursday. He was suffering from kidney problem for several months.

Nepali Congress candidate Nakarmi was elected as the mayor of Kirtipur during 2022 local level elections. He is also the vice president of NC Kathmandu district committee. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. With his demise the position of mayor of Kirtipur has fallen vacant and the Election Commission needs to conduct a new election to fulfill the position.
