Women entrepreneurs honoured at New Business Women Summit

Twelve women entrepreneurs from across the country have been honoured at the New Business Women Summit and Awards ceremony organized in Kathmandu on Friday. Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari was the chief guest at the programme organized by New Business Age in collaboration with Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Ltd. Salt Trading Ltd., IMF Life Insurance, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank, Agriculture Development Bank and Himalayan Airlines among others were the co-organizers.

On the occasion Supreme Court Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla honoured Shyam Badan Pradhan, founder of Nepal Netcraft Centre with Life Time Achievement Award in Women Entrepreneurship. On the occasion, Mausami Shrestha, chairperson of Kisan Innovation Hub was honoured with Best Women Entrepreneur Award while Rita Pokharel of InDrive has been honoured with Professional Women of Excellence Award. Similarly, Vedika Murarka of Educase has been honoured as the Pioneering Social Entrepreneur while Sonica Manandhar of Fintech Co. LOE has been honoured as the Women in Tech.

Similarly, one each woman from seven provinces have been honoured as the Emerging Enterprising Women of the Year award and handed a purse of Rs. 51,000 each. Sabitri Ojha, Bhumisara Tomata, Gita Kumari Koiri Maurya, Gita Nath, Sapana Sapkota, Sunaina Thakur and Maya Gurung are the recipients of the award.
