The Embassy of India, Kathmandu organised events in various places including Kathmandu and Pokhara to celebrate the International Yoga Day on June 20 and 21. In keeping with this year’s theme of “Yoga for Self and Society”, the embassy organised a Yoga and meditation practice for around 450 people on the banks of Phewa Lake in Pokhara.
On the same day, the embassy also organised a yoga demonstration and free health consultation with Ayurvedic practitioners, focussing on the health benefits of yoga and Ayurveda.
The embassy also organized a large scale yoga demonstration for more than 900 participants at Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha on the day. The event organised at Pokhara Stadium on Friday was attended by Gandaki Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey among others.
To wrap up the celebration of the 10th edition of the International Day of Yoga, the embassy is organizing a yoga demonstration event in Lamjung district on Saturday.
