Pak nationals arrested for taking four Sri Lankans hostage

Nepal Police have arrested four Pakistani nationals for taking four Sri Lankan nationals as hostage in the pretext of sending them to different European countries. Those arrested Pakistanis include Juber Amzad, 57, Sahjahan Tanbir 42, Malik Abdul Hamid, 62 and Arif Masiha, 44.

Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigative Department of Nepal Police arrested the four Pak nationals on the basis of a tip off on Thursday, April 4, informed superintendent of police Nakul Pokharel on Friday.

The Pak nationals brought them from Sri Lanka and taken to different places of Kathmandu valley in the pretext of sending them to different European countries including Canada and Romania for attractive jobs, said the police.

They have been beaten, tortured and threatened by the Pakistanis and also seized their passports, while taking them hostage at different hotels in Kathmandu. The police have rescued them on the basis of a tip off and arrangements are being made to send them back to their home country.

The Pak nationals have also charges millions of rupees from them with false promise of providing jobs in European countries, adds the police. The Pak nationals will be charged under acts related to abduction and human trafficking.
