Man commits suicide after killing three members of family

A man has committed suicide in Kathmandu after killing three members of his family.

According to Superintendent of Police, Rabindra Regmi also the Spokesperson at the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, three members of the same family were killed at Sitapaila area in the outskirt of Kathmandu Wednesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Ishwori Shrestha, 38, Anisha, 8 and Shivani, 2. Their bodies were recovered from the rented flat where they were staying. The patriarch of the family is at large. Three hours later the police recovered dead body of 37 year old Kaji Bishworkarma, husband of Ishwori in a nearby forest year. Anisha was his daughter and Shivani was his grand daughter by relation.

The man was found hanging in a tree near White Gumba in the forest area. The exact reason of the murder is not known. But it was suspected that the man had doubt regarding the character of her wife, which led to the murder and suicide.

Police arrested Indian national with semi-liquid gold like materials

Police on Monday arrested an Indian national along with 855 grams of gold from the Tribhuvan International Airport. A 35 year old Indian national, Sharif Ahmed Abdul Gafur, has been arrested from the Kathmandu airport Monday evening with gold like semi-liquid yellow material, said Nepal Police in a statement issued on Tuesday.

According to the police, Gafur had landed in Kathmandu from Dubai through a flydubai flight with the gold concealed in three plastic bags. The police recovered the yellow metal from him during security check at the arrival gate.

The police have initiated further investigation into the matter taking the Indian national in custody.
