At least 500 people have successfully scaled the highest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest this spring. During the current season, five hundred foreign and Nepalese climbers as well as mountain guides have reached atop the Summit of Mt. Everest, according to the Department of Tourism. A total of 478 mountaineers have received expedition permits to climb the Everest i this season. The 500 who reached atop the Everest Summit also includes the Sherpa guides from different expeditions.
This year’s spring climbing started on May 13. The 478 permits issued by Nepal government’s TOurism Department is the highest in history to date of the permits to climb Mt. Everest in the spring. So far, 12 people including four Nepalese climbers died in the Everest, according to official data.
