The Government has announced a policy to celebrate the 2080s as the decade of visiting Nepal. This was announced at the Public Policy and Program on Friday. In the policy and program presented by the President in the House, it is mentioned that the 2080s will be celebrated as the Visit Nepal Decade and 2025 as the Special Tourism Year by conducting a joint promotional program in the cost sharing of the public and private sectors. It is mentioned in the policy and program that the government will open new mountains for climbing in order to increase tourism traffic and earn foreign exchange. For that, it is said that reliable arrangements will be made for the safety and emergency rescue of climbers and hikers. It is the government’s policy to continue exploring, excavating and preserving the sites rich in historical archeology to give life to Nepali cultural heritage through study, research, preservation, enrichment and transmission. It is mentioned that Tilaurakot in Kapilvastu and Janaki temple in Janakpurdham will be included in the World Heritage List. The government has adopted a policy to promote the listed tourist destinations globally by making timely amendments to the Tourism Act, emphasizing the development of essential tourist infrastructure, security arrangements and the expansion of new tourist destinations. For that, new tourist destinations will be identified and developed in all seven provinces, one province as a cultural village concept, branding of Nepal in the world tourism market and various internal and external tourism promotion campaigns will be conducted. It is mentioned that the government has a policy to develop, protect and promote Pashupati and Lumbini as religious, spiritual and cultural heritage and specialized study centers.
