Former deputy Prime Minister and House of Representative member from CPN-UML Top Bahadur Rayamajhi has been arrested from southern part of Kathmandu Sunday night.
According to the police he was arrested from Budhanilkantha area, 10 km south of Kathmandu. The police had issued arrest warrant against Rayamajhi on the fake Bhutanese refugee scam. His son, Sandip has already been in the police net and Rayamajhi was absconding. With this the total number of 13 people have been arrested in the fake refugee scandal. Earlier, the police had arrested Balkrishna Khand, former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader. However, Manju, Khand’s spouse is absconding since the arrest of the former Home Minister.
Meanwhile, the police has started interrogating both Khand and Rayamajhi. They have been remanded for four more days from the Kathmandu District Court to facilitate interrogation.
