The team led by IFMGA guide Dawa Gyalje Sherpa reached the top of the world on Saturday at 1:52 pm.It is the first team with nine Nepali climbers reached the summit opening the routes for others to follow.

The season’s first Everest summit has been recorded as the rope-fixing team from Imagine Nepal reached the summit of the mountain on Saturday afternoon.

Imagine Nepal is the mountaineering and expedition operator. The team of Nima Nuru Sherpa, Lhakpa Sona Sherpa, Dipen Gurung, Pasang Ngima Sherpa, Lhakpa Tenjing Sherpa, Phur Galjen Sherpa, Dawa Jangbu Sherpa and Suman Gurung along with Dawa Gyalje were involved in rope fixing at Everest this year.

“This was not easy due to changing weather, but our team has turned successful to do it,” says MingmaGyalzenfrom Imagine Nepal. “It was an emotional, mental and physical challenge”, he added.

“Our team will continue to collect more rubbish from south Cole and above upon returning from the summit,” says Mingma. It is learned that the weather there with be fair during 14th to 20th May. The mountaineers waiting started climbing form Saturday evening

According to the Department of Tourism around 500 mountaineers are given permission to climb Mt Everest this season. They are 98 female and 369 male from 65 countries including Nepal. This is the highest number of mountaineers permitted to climb Mt Everest in its 70 years of history.

In the mountaineering process, it is usually easier to equip sections of the mountain with rope that is secured in place, than to have people climbing together either Alpine style or swinging leads.

Arguably fixing ropes reduces the skill level of those people who are then going to attempt the peak – which then increases the need for ropes to be fixed! But nowadays these people are probably going to go there anyway and their lack of mountaineering experience makes them a liability not only to themselves, but to everyone else around them.

When used properly they are a very safe way for people to protect themselves – when used improperly or when ignored then you can only imagine what the consequences might be.

Following accomplishment of rope fixing on Saturday, 3 foreigner mountaineers and 3 Nepali nationals reached the top of Mt Everest on Sunday morning at 8:45.

The successful summiteers are NailaKiani of Pakistan, US lady Jessica Rae Wedel and Matan T Sers of Hungary. Among the Nepali nationals is PasangDawaSherpa who scaled the highest peak of the world at 26th time.  The others are Pasang Temba Sherpa and AngNima Sherpa.

It is informed that Jessica Rae Wedel scaled Mt Everest to raise awareness about ovarian cancer. The Okhlahoma-based climber also becomes the first ovarian cancer survivor to summit Mt Everest. Kiani, a banker based in Duabi, had climbed four of the world’s 14 highest mountains before Mt Everest.

This year also marks the 70th anniversary of the first ascent of Mt Everest in 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary and his Sherpa guide Tenzing Norgay. It has been climbed more than 11,000 times since then.

Similarly, the team of Nepal Army mountaineers involved in Clean Himal Campaign scaled top of the Mt Everest on Monday at 10:05 am. The team was led by Col Kishore Adhikari. The successful summiteers are Dipendra Singh Khatri, Bishnau Bal Rai, Kishore Jawegu, Shankar Kunwar. The Sherpa guides in the team Wongchhu Sherpa, Phurba Sherrpa, Phurba Dorchi Sherpa and Lakpa Sherpa also successfully climbed the peak.
