Giri claims setting world record by walking down stairs on hands

A Nepal Army man has claimed that he has set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest inverted stair walking.

Hari Chandra Giri reportedly walked, on his hands, down 77 stairs in 25.03 seconds, ‘breaking’ the world record set kept by Mark Kenny from the United States of America, the world’s best hand walker. Kenny walked, on his hand, down 77 stairs in 30.8 seconds.

The record attempt by Giri took place at the stairs of Jamchen Bijaya Stupa in Budhanilkantha in Kathmandu. He would get the Guinness World Records certificate in some days, it has been said.

A permanent resident of the Dang district, Giri has already set three Guinness World Records in different streams. He set his first world record for the fastest 10 meters walking on hands with a football (soccer ball) between the legs. He completed the task in 4.49 seconds.

Similarly, his second world record was his completion of 50 meters walking on hands with a football between the legs in 25.58 seconds. Also, he set his third Guinness World Record for the fastest inverted stair walking. He walked, on his hands, down 50 stairs in 12.65 seconds. Serving for the Nepali Army for the past nine years, he is now associated with the Tribhuvan Army Club. 

Giri received 50 thousand rupees for winning Army Got Talent in 2077. He wants to participate in Britain’s Got Talent, Canada’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent. He has already applied to participate in it. Giri once wanted to join the Indian Army. Even though he tried four times, he did not succeed.

Giri was admitted to the British Training Center. After his dream of joining the Indian Army was not fulfilled, he joined the Nepal Army at the age of 19. Liking his work, Maj.  Gen.  Achyutam Bhandari and Commander Santosh Kumar Dhakal appointed him to the Sports Center of Tribhuban Army Club of Nepal Army. Giri’s great-grandfather, was in the Army. The younger father was employed in the Nepal police. Due to their inspiration, Hari chandra also joined the Nepal Army. Now it has been 9 years he joined the Nepal Army.

Since childhood, Giri preferred to do different activities. He started practicing hand-walking since he was 8 years old. Later, while studying, he came to know that he can break the Guinness World Record. He also managed to set a record. Giri loves to spend time reading different books. He likes novels, stories and biographies.
