Nearly 200 climbers receive permits to scale Mt. Everest

A total of 197 individuals have received permission from the authorities to climb world’s highest peak Mt. Everest during the spring season this year. According to the Department of Tourism, these mountaineers have received permits to climb the Everest representing 20 mountaineering expedition teams. Among the climbers, who got permission to summit the Everest 31 are women.

The number of climbers to scale the 8848.86 metre tall mountain has increased considerably this year, according to tourism entrepreneurs. A total of 460 individuals representing 55 mountaineering expeditions took permits to climb Nepali Himalayas in this season, according to the department. The government has earned royalties amounting to Rs 280 million by issuing such permits.
