Phoenix College provides Rs. 50,000 cash prizes to national cricket players

Phoenix College of Management situated in Maitidevi, Kathmandu, actively involved in producing human resources in the field of management and information technology for over a decade, has honoured National Cricket Players of Nepal for their outstanding performances in the cricket fraternity.

Amidst a programme organized in Kathmandu on Thursday, March 30, 2023, the college felicitated national five national cricket players, namely, Gyanendra Malla, Kushel Bhurtel, Kamal Singh Airee, Sundeep Jora, and Surya Tamang.

Former Captain of National Cricket Team Paras Khadka was also present during the felicitation programme. The five cricket players were presented with Dosalla, Token of Appreciation and cash prize amounting to Rs. 50,000 each on the occasion.

The cricket players, who received the hour, are currently pursuing their undergraduate studies at the Phoenix COllege of Management.

“The felicitation programme was aimed at honouring the national cricket players for their remarkable achievements and contributions in the field of sport,” remarked Laxman Pokharel, Executive Director of the college.

“It was an opportunity to show appreciation and gratitude towards their efforts,” he pointed out. “The programme provided a platform for the students to share their experiences and insights on how they have managed to strike a balance between their academics and cricketing career,” he added.

“The college has provided 100 percent scholarships to the national cricket players for motivating them in pursuing their higher studies,” he shared.

The players shared about their experience in Phoenix College and the delightful environment the college provides for them. “Education is important for the players as an educated player is capable to understand themselves, the world and the game in a better way,” pointed out the players on the occasion.

The national cricket players are not only famous for their sportsmanship but also a good and meritorious student,” shared Prof. Dr. Fatte Bahadur K.C., principal of the college. “The players’ closeness to the college and their passion for higher studies proves that Phoenix College is the first choice of the national heroes and admirable students,” pointed out K.C.

Phoenix College of Management is the first Lincoln University affiliated college running Undergraduate and Graduate programmes in Nepal since 2012.
