The swearing in ceremony of newly elected Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav took place at President’s House at Sheetal Niwas, Kathmandu Monday morning. President of Nepal Ramchandra Poudel administered oath of office and secrecy to Vice – President Yadav amidst a special ceremony. Yadav took oath in Nepali language wearing Nepali national dress on the occasion.
Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal “Prachanda,” Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, former Prime Ministers, ministers and members of the Parliament were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Yadav, deputy leader of Parliamentary Part of Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, has been elected as the Vice President on March 17. Yadav defeated his nearest rival Ashta Laxmi Shakya of CPN-UML with a huge margin. Yadav secured 30,328 vote against 16,328 votes secured by Shakya.
