On the occasion of International Women’s Day this year Sirjana College of Fine Arts is honouring eight distinguished female personalities as Ashtamatrika for making outstanding contributions to the art, literature and science and civil service fields. Bhuwan Chand is being honoured for theatre and cinema, Usha Dixit for civil service, Dawa Gyalmo Dewan for music – singing, Usha Sherchan for literature, Prof Dr Sangeeta Rajbhandary for science – botany, Anju Malla Pradhan for architecture, Dr Seema Sharma Shah for contemporary art – painting, Minakshi Sharma for academic. An exclusive event will be organized on Tuesday to honour the distinguished personalities in Kathmandu.
