CNI demands to create an industrial friendly environment

A delegation from Confederation of Nepal Industry (CNI) met with the newly appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari. The CNI team led by its president Bishnu Kumar Aggarwal on Wednesday met the Industry minister at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply and congratulated him for being appointed to the post.

During the occasion they discussed the existing economic situation and problems facing various industries. Chairman Agarwal requested the minister to adopt a policy to boost the morale of business sector and revive the worsening economic situation of the country. The morale of industrialists and businessmen is very low due to high contraction in demand, high interest rate, lack of investable capital etc, he pointed out. He also pointed out that the government should promote industrialization of in the country with high priority as sustainable development can be achieved only through industrialization which can also generate sufficient employment opportunities.

Thanking the government for inclusion of the ‘Make in Nepal (Swadeshi)’ campaign launched by the Confederation with top priority in the minimum common program of the government, President Agarwal assured for his cooperation.

President Agarwal on the occasion submitted to Minister Bhandari the concept paper of ‘Rebooting Nepalese Economy’ with clear steps to be taken immediately to revamp the country’s economy which is in crisis. Minister Bhandari said that his important goal is to prevent the migration of youths due to lack of employment and to increase new employment opportunities in the country and since this is possible only through industrial development, he assured to move forward in collaboration with the Confederation. On the occasion Vice Presidents of the Confederation Nirwan Chaudhary and Rajesh Aggarwal, Virendra Raj Pandey, Raj Bahadur Shah, Rohit Gupta, Amit More and the Director General of the Confederation Deepakraj Joshi also congratulated Minister Bhandari.

Meanwhile Confederation of Nepalese Industry (CNI)’s Women Entrepreneurs Forum situated in CNI’s office in Thapathali has distributed relief materials to extremely poor families in Sunsari district. Relief materials were handed over to a social organization called Karmayog.

In the relief distribution program, Chanya Sharma, the coordinator of the platform, Vidushi Rana, director general of Kiran Suja, Asrata Karki Chaudhary, representative of Chaudhary Group, Pampha Dhamala, director general of Langtang Trekking and Expedition, members of Women Entrepreneurs Forum Sarita Lama, Anuja Sarraf and Aarti Lama, corporate officer of Jawalakhel Group of Industries distributed 550 blankets, 550 caps and 550 socks to  Karmayog Society’s community development director Saurabh Rimal. The relief materials will be delivered to Musahar, Madheshi, tribal groups, backward communities and poor families of Prakashpur, Chakragadhi, Manpur villages in Ward No. 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 of Barah Municipality in Sunsari District. Director Rimal appreciated the Confederation and the Women Entrepreneurs Forum for the support and thanked the contributors. In addition to this, he informed that the relief materials can reach the respective villages from the capital in a proper manner within a period of 2 – 3 days.
