Kushal Gurung elected WECAN President

Water and Energy Consultants’ Association Nepal (WECAN) organised its 12th annual general body meeting on Friday in Lalitpur. The agm has elected Kushal Gurung as its president for the 2 years tenure. Likewise, Sanjeev Pokhrel, Jagannath Ammai, Ranjana Tiwari were elected for the posts of vice president, general secretary and treasurer respectively. Similarly, Shreeram Devkota, Om Krishna Maharjan, Kamal Timalsina, Bindu Manandhar and Shovana Maharjan were elected as executive committee members. The programme was presided over Kalidas Neupane who turned as immediate past president after the election of new executive committee.

The speakers and participants discussed on the scopes of WECAN activities to nation building tasks in active engagement of WECAN, its members and concerned supporters.

Water and Energy Consultants’ Association Nepal (WECAN) is an umbrella organisation of technical individuals and commercial companies or firms dedicated to study, survey, design, supervision and monitoring of water and renewable energy technology related micro, small or large size assignments, installation, construction, and or undertakings. This organisation was established on July 12, 2009.

The association carries out capacity building activities, movements for policy interventions, and professional welfare of the member individuals and institutions which one or other way benefit to the country and people.

The organisation has 82 members including private companies, institutions, individual experts and professionals.
